Phillip Smith has spent the majority of his life fulfilling a musical dream. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Howard Payne University and a Master of Music degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has been playing the piano since the age of 6 and still enjoys producing piano arrangements. During his high school years he played the Trombone and Euphonium in band and accompanied the Jazz Band on keyboard. He majored in voice and has sung in many types of choirs.
While at Howard Payne University, Phillip met his wife, Charre. She also earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Howard Payne University. She now serves as the Children’s Ministry Director and the Children’s Choir Coordinator at Westoak Woods Baptist Church. Phillip and Charre both serve as teachers of voice, piano and flute in the Westoak Woods School of Music. Phillip and Charre have 2 boys, Brent and Barrett. They are both involved in the Music Ministry and enjoy singing together as a family and doing solo work. |
